Anahata chakra is the fourth primary chakra located at the heart centre. It represents love, compassion, charity and balance. By opening the heart chakra we are able to act in accordance with our higher selves, following our hearts, from a place of love, compassion, integrity and openness.
The Anahata chakra is the seat of divine love and it is here that emotion is re-channelled into devotion. Vishnu granthi, the second psychic knot along shushumna, representing the bondage of emotional attachment, is located here and when this knot is released one becomes free of all selfishness and egoistic emotional attachment and thereby attains mental and emotional peace and equilibrium.
Our mission at Anahata Yoga is to provide our students with a deep, inspiring and transformational experience of the magic of yoga. We aim to make yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of flexibility, age or athletic capability. Using the principles of awareness, compassion, non-judgment and body knowledge, our students will develop a sustainable, creative and ever-evolving personal yoga practice.
Anahata Yoga offers a unique, flowing and holistic style of yoga designed to integrate mind, body and spirit and unify us with the source of universal love. It is truly yoga, taught from the heart.
Anahata Yoga offers a unique, powerful and graceful style of hatha yoga known as The Dance of Shiva and Shakti. This form of yoga is a meditative flowing vinyasa asana practice designed to open the energy channels in the body and invite the energy of Shakti, residing in the base of the spine, to rise through Shushumna and merge with Shiva, residing in the crown of the head.
At Anahata Yoga we aim to rediscover the realm of pure potential of the inner self and its spiritual essence. Peter Clifford has proven in his own personal practice that human ageing is reversible and scientific research shows that we can literally reverse the ageing markers, for example muscle strength, bone density, blood pressure and cholesterol levels etc…
People are an amazing network of cellular intelligence, energy, thought, emotions, electric currents, organ actions, hormones, nervous systems, tissues, blood and lymph flows. All these elements are interwoven, inter-reactive and capable of transformation through this yoga practice. We focus particularly on the internal aspects of yoga: organ cleansing, tissue pumps, nervous systems, circulation of lymph and blood, releasing granthis and pranic blockages, and creating hydraulic and pneumatic pressures within the body to create change.
All movements are undertaken with conscious awareness, promoting a state of integration of the mind and body. As you practice this inner yoga style, you reconnect with your inner reservoir of energy, vitality and creativity you will return to a younger functioning physical and mental state.
Classes at Anahata Yoga are designed to enhance the qualities of rejuvenation and longevity, to correct postural imbalances, to create vitality and health while promoting the natural abilities of the body to energise and to heal so that it can realise its own amazing true potential.
